About Us
Interfaith Harmony Halifax (IHH) was established in 2013 in response to the 2010 United Nations initiative World Interfaith Harmony Week. IHH replaced The Halifax Interfaith Council, which held an event to celebrate World Religion Day each year, with this week-long initiative.
IHH seeks to foster interfaith awareness, understanding, appreciation, respect, diversity, inclusion and peace. To help facilitate this, IHH creates events with both theistic and non-theistic groups within the Halifax Regional Municipality. These events are open to the public, and allow participants to engage with the various groups in an atmosphere of openness, creativity and learning. The events occur the first week of February each year.
IHH is comprised of volunteers from various walks of life and diverse beliefs. This allows us to put into practice what we are hoping to achieve with the public. If you wish to become involved in the planning of our events, please contact us at interfaithharmonyhalifaxihh@gmail.com.
We reject intolerance, persecution, and violence in any of their forms. We do not issue statements, sign petitions, or take positions on individual, or world, issues or conflicts as an organization.
